Benziny.cz is an independent information portal helping drivers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia find the best fuel prices, compare vehicle operating costs, and navigate the world of electromobility.
Our Mission
Fuel prices are among the most significant expenses in the budget of every car-owning household. Yet it remains difficult for the average driver to track price trends, compare gas station offers, and evaluate whether switching to alternative fuel makes financial sense.
The benziny.cz portal was created to change this. We collect, analyze, and clearly present data on prices of gasoline, diesel, LPG, CNG, and electricity for EV charging. Our tools enable every driver to make informed decisions about where to refuel, which powertrain to choose, and how to optimize vehicle operating costs.
We believe that transparent access to pricing information contributes to a fairer fuel market and motivates gas stations to offer more competitive prices.

Data Sources and Methodology
Our primary data source for fuel prices is the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ), which conducts regular surveys of average prices of selected products – fuels and heating oils. This data is published as open data in CSV format.
EV charging prices are sourced from publicly available price lists of individual charging operators. Our calculators use average vehicle consumption values from manufacturer data and independent tests.
How Automatic Price Updates Work
Benziny.cz uses an automated system for fuel price updates. Every Monday morning, our server downloads the latest data from the ČSÚ open data portal, processes it, and updates the price database.
The system automatically recognizes new data points, recalculates average prices for the entire country and individual regions, and updates price trends.
Transparency and Independence
Benziny.cz is an independent project not owned or influenced by any oil company, gas station, or charging operator. Our recommendations and comparisons are objective and based exclusively on publicly available data.
The website is funded through contextual advertising (Google AdSense). We respect your privacy and use anonymous analytics (Umami Analytics).
